I have heard terrible things about Chuck's dog house. I have never tried it, but several people I know have and said they would never go back. You speak of the Chicago style hot dog with the typical poppy seed bun, but if you want the working man's Chicago style there is a new place in Winthrop Harbor. It's like Gene and Jude's in River Grove. It is called Droopy's Red Hots and located at Harbor Plaza. They serve the working man's dog with the vienna natural casing hot dog, steamed bun, mustard, relish, onions, and sport peppers. The dog is served with FRESH CUT FRIES !!! piled high on the dog. There is no ketchup...even a sign NO KETCHUP !! If you are craving a chicago style dog you need to check this place out. It definetly brings a piece of the city to Lake County.
